Unveiling the Route: Rome to Hong Kong

Twelve map stops, 15,000 kilometres and 44 days — the full itinerary of the Marco Polo Drive, from the Vatican to the Pearl River, is revealed.

The Marco Polo Drive today unveiled its complete route — one road where continents become one, running from the Vatican to the Pearl River across deserts, mountains and ancient trade cities.

The expedition threads through Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and China, with major stops in Rome, Venice, Istanbul, Tbilisi, Samarkand, Almaty, Luoyang, Suzhou and Hong Kong. Each city marks a chapter in a story of friendship and peaceful coexistence.

From the launch in Rome to the final harbour of Hong Kong, the Drive answers the ancient call of the Silk Road — proving that even a divided world can still be travelled together.
